Many people are thinking, "I am ready for a relationship

. I've been wanting it for so long!", but then again they are not. Most people get giddy with the idea and just focus on it; they just tune everything out.

People want to have a relationship and there is no doubt about that. But the question is are you ready? Are you ready for a real relationship? Not on the shallow waters but going through the depths of it. Are you ready to face it? Are you prepared?

Here are some warning signs that tell you otherwise.

1. You tend to go for the "wrong type". Your brain is on sleep mode when it comes to finding the great guy. It's on fierce hunting mode when it comes to finding the wrong type of guy. You tend to sabotage a relationship even before it happened by choosing the wrong guy, one who is not a relationship material. You are satisfying only your wants and selfish desires by going out with guys who are not good for you and a relationship. You go for the players, scums, lazy mama's boys and losers instead of the great, nice guys. Why is that? It's because you blind yourself into thinking that "maybe" you are the only one who can change them- keyword, "maybe"- snap out of it. Deep inside you know you can't change him and what's more disturbing is that you just keep it that way. Why? Because in your subconscious, you are also afraid to commit.

2. You need a man to make you feel happy. You always wanted to have a man by your side, you are used to it. Without a guy by your side you just feel miserable. You go to a party alone, it gives you more excuse to sulk rather than enjoy it. You go home and curl up in your bed and cry yourself to sleep for the lack of "Prince Charming". You are so engulfed in the idea of having a guy and being a couple that you tend to ignore all the other things- like that great guy in the party perhaps. Find the things that will give you happiness and not just with other men, avoid strangling a relationship by being happy with yourself. After you have done that then find the right guy to whom you can share your happiness with.

3. You are pushed down by your own baggage. If you are still licking your emotional scars, then it's not the perfect time for a new relationship. You may find yourself having a relationship but then it ends painfully for you both since you haven't moved on. Worse, that person might think that you just made him the rebound guy and you'll feel guilty and resentful. You need time for yourself to heal and move on. Leave your ex and everything associated with him behind. Make new ones and replace them.

Are you ready for a new relationship? A real one? It's a tough question and coming up with an answer can be just as hard. You have to consider your personal beliefs, behaviours, attitudes and then you have to face it all with honesty. Talking about it is easy but acting on it is harder than it seems.
