Simplifying Wedding Receptions
In the past it was very common to have the wedding take place at one venue
, usually a church or temple, and the reception at a separate venue where the bride changed into more casual attire and the party could begin. Today there is a trend away from having a separate wedding venue from the ceremony. Most couples choose to have the ceremony and the wedding reception at the same location.
There are several benefits to having both the ceremony and wedding reception at one venue. The first is cost. Weddings are expensive as it is. Adding the cost of renting a church is going to raise costs unnecessarily. Unless religion requires it, most couples feel perfectly comfortable saying their vows under the open skies or at a wedding venue that reflects their personality more than a chapel or church might.
Another consideration to give for having both portions of a wedding at the same place is it makes things easier for the guests. No additional transportation has to be figured out. Guests can take time to walk around the property or enjoy the cocktail hour without rushing from one place to the next.
The third thing to consider is the stress level of the bride and groom. They have enough to worry about on the wedding day without having to be concerned with whether or not they will get to the wedding reception venue with enough time to get family and group pictures taken.
For most people getting married, one of the best parts of the day is being able to visit with friends and family, especially with those from out of town. With less travel time, there is more time for catching up with people.
Wedding reception venues are often more beautiful than wedding ceremony sites. They can be personalized with flowers, lighting and more and the biggest bonus for many is they can be outdoors. There are a variety of wedding venues that offer both indoor and outdoor space. Most utilize the outdoor space for the ceremony and the indoor space for the reception.
In order to have a happy wedding, the wedding needs to stay within a certain budget. By combining two spaces into one, additional funds can be spent on a better photographer or additional flowers. Having one destination also makes life easier for all those attending. Transportation to and from one venue to another is also going to add to the budget.
However, the most important factor for every wedding is that the couple has fun. This is a beautiful, incredible, romantic day. Remember to take the time to enjoy the people you are surrounded by and the ones you love.
