Scrapbooking Embellishments For A Wedding Layout
Although embellishments such as hearts and doves are all readily available to buy
, they always seem to come in generic designs. By making our own, you are ensuring that this wedding will be unique.
Purchase a rubber stamp, square card and some embossing powder (gold or silver is the best). If you're trying to make a ring for example, stamp the ring on the card with the powder. Then, cut the square out and put it on a slightly larger gold textured card.
A wedding cake cut out provides a great scrapbook tag, and as many tags are required (one for each page), a die cut out of a cake is the easiest way to make the amount of tags that you need. If you have the ability to create your own cake tag, use pearlised card as it is usually available in colours like ivory and white which are synonymous with weddings. If you wish to add a little elegance to the tag, you could use a specialised pen to add dots to make your cake look iced.
Then cut your journaling down to a size that enables it to fit on top of the cake shape, adding ribbon so that you can add the tag to the page.
To create flower embellishments, buy any one of the multitude of flowery scrapbooking papers available and cut out the flowers.
Create a base by cutting out one whole design then add single design elements to this base using a small amount of silicone glue whilst shaping the petals to give off a 3D effect. To create a beautiful bouquet, simply glue together a bunch of flower heads.
These 3D flowers can brighten up even the most generic tag, but nothing is more suited to weddings than heart shaped embellishments. Although craft punches have the ability to create a variety of heart shapes, don't just use the cut outs.
Instead, cut a strip of paper that is different to the plain or patterned background. Then use the craft punch on the strip and take away the hearts you punch out for use on other pages. Put the newly created strip over your background and add a ribbon for decoration.
The creation of wedding pages is a glorious opportunity to show off your creative talents, and when the scrapbook is completed, you will have the fruit of your labours to hand for all time. Simply create your own layout design and add the embellishments you made for wonderfully decorative wedding pages.
