Although there are other wonderful resorts out there, some of them have restrictions that make it difficult for guests to attend your wedding. For example, some of them cater only to adults no children allowed. You may also run into resorts that only allow couples, which makes it difficult if single friends want to join you for your wedding. The Riu offers so much flexibility; it really can cater to everyone in your group!
Brides love the FREE wedding packages they offer too! Just book at least 5 rooms, and you can have a very simple and elegant wedding for free. If you want a little more pizzazz or if youre expecting more than 10 guests, the prices for the other wedding packages are very reasonable and may include things like hair, manicure and pedicure for the bride, a couples massage for the bride and groom and breakfast in the bed the next morning. Very luxurious!
Since one of my passions is doing whatever I can for the environment, the Riu Resorts also have a place in my heart for their environmental efforts.
The resorts have their own water treatment plants and reuse much of the kitchen and shower water to water their gardens onsite.
In 1997, the Riu Resorts stopped using individual portioned jam, honey, yogurt and butter and instead replaced them with bulk products. In one year, this saves 46 million throw away packets and 7 million garbage bags thats 105 tonnes of garbage!
The rooms in most of the hotels have a system that automatically shuts off the air when a door or window is open, saving all that energy from being wasted.
