. The idea of buying a second hand or used unit comes into view. It may seem like a logical idea considering that your child will only be able to use it for a couple of months. However, you'll soon find out that the price of a used one is almost the same as the cheapest brand new model and this will make you all the more confused with your final choice. It cannot be undermined that your baby will only be using the swing for a short time. Sanitation will also be compromised when buying a second hand baby product. You'll never know what sort of allergy or skin irritation your baby might incur upon using the swing. More importantly, the safety of your child is also at stake. Since the unit was already used, depending on how old it already is, there's no telling when any of its components might break.
When your budget is low and resources are limited, you need to be realistic with your purchases especially when it comes to infant accessories like infant swings. That you should be able to get your money's worth is already a given. But comparing a cheap model to a good second hand unit may be confusing. Given this, you must be able to weigh things properly and still consider what is available to you. If you do decide to buy a used swing, inspect the unit for signs of wear and tear and also for history of skin conditions of the previous owner. The unit must at least come from a smoke-free and pet-free environment to ensure that no health hazard will come to your baby.
