Tanning and exposure to the sun can prematurely age the skin. The UV rays can also dehydrate your skin causing your skin to lose its elasticity and therefore increase your risks for marks.

2. Start taking Zinc - Zinc is a mineral that helps boost brain functionality and aids in skin care. specifically the prevention of scars. It also keeps the dermis layer of the skin healthy. This layer of the skin plays a vital role in the skins elasticity. You can purchase a zinc supplement for a few dollars at your local store.

3. Eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water - You've heard the sang you are what you eat. Well that sang holds a lot of truth. drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Water helps to keep the skin hydrated along with flushing toxins out of the body. Eat lots of dark green leafy veggies, they have many nutrients that aid in healthy skin. You may also want to limit your daily caffeine intake. Since caffeine is know to dehydrate the skin.

4. Keep your skin moisturized. - in order to prevent these annoying scars you need to keep the expanding area of skin moisturized. This plays a huge role in if you get stretch marks or not and also determines how many stretch marks you do end up getting. Many lotions with coco butter can do the trick, but a high quality stretch mark cream will do wonders. Since they are specially formulated with natural ingredients like vitamin E and Squalene oil that are proven to help in preventing marks.
