. These types of nasal procedures can almost always be addressed with the basic open or closed techniques that are common for this area. Reconstructive rhinoplasty may have a different approach to reconstructing the damaged nose or may also enter it through the same method as procedures based in aesthetics.
Reconstructive
This type of procedure brings back the basic form and function of the individual's organ for smelling. Damage or injury to this area may have happened during an accident or may be a birth defect, which hampers the function of the nose. A cleft is the more common birth defect that can be corrected by reconstruction. On the other hand, accidents can actually damage the initially normal nose; this will also need some form of reconstructive operation, which may be closer to plastic surgery. A fistfight can also be the cause of a crooked nose. The kind of operation for this should be reconstructive but other surgeons apply aesthetic-based techniques when doing so.
Rhinoplasty Versions
One of the aspects of a nose that many people would like to change is the tip. Nasal tip surgeries are often approached through open or closed techniques, which are the basic methods. Broad tips are often the issues with many people and they would want to have a finer, smoother tip. The bridge can also be one of the focuses of this kind of operation. This form of plastic surgery can be both reconstructive and for aesthetic reasons. Altering this area can improve breathing, reduce snoring, and enhance appearances by commonly reducing, or enlarging, the shape and size of the bridge. Hump surgeries for the dorsum, located between the forehead and the end of the nose, are most commonly done to reduce or minimize the hump. Many individuals are plagued with a dorsum that makes their appearance appear sinister or crooked. There are other types of dorsum operations that can make it bigger or alter its shape and size.
Resizing the nostrils is another version of rhinoplasty. People with larger nostrils can actually ask the surgeon to minimize these solely, or add it to another nasal operation. Reducing the cartilages in the area or adding cartilage-like substances to it can alter the basic shape of the nose also. This helps a lot in reshaping the nose into a straighter and smoother appearance.
