How does one care for oily skin? Well that is a question most people have trouble answering
, well I am here today to give you the guidelines on oily skin care, so take a pen and paper and take note of this important lesson.
Oily skin is characterized by shine, enlarged pores and rapid development of acne due the high levels of sebum and since there is more sebaceous gland around the nose there is likely to be blackheads around that area. These characteristics can be caused by a number of things; they may be caused by the cosmetic products we use and by birth control pills consumed by women.
The first step in oily skin care is obviously to wash it. Washing the skin with preferably warm water will help kill the acne causing bacteria and also temporarily remove oil form the skin. After washing the skin it is necessary to unclog the pores by exfoliating the skin to prevent development of acne.
The next step in the oily skin care is to apply a facial mask. This can be a clay mask or a mud mask. You are puzzled aren't you?
Well don't be mud and clay will dehydrate your skin and not cause any other side effects whilst masks that have chemicals in them will cause so much dehydration that will trigger the reaction called reactive seborrhea which means that the skin will be producing more than enough oil to try to replace the lost oil and this is a set back.
So yes use mud or clay for your masks.
The next step in the skin care therapy is to apply anti-bacterial cleansing lotion, this must be water based because an oil based one will cause the skin more harm than good, and it will make the skin oiler and cause the development of blemishes.
If you cannot afford to buy cleansing lotions and other oil skin care then it is best you use the home remedy for oily skin care.
This involves the use of fruit that have acid; good old lemon from your garden will do the job.
Not only will it remove oil it will also help you skin retain moisture. Cucumber juice and yoghurt will also help remove oil and retain moisture in the skin.
