My Dream Wedding

I dont know about those of you reading this, but I have been dreaming of my wedding day since I was Thirteen years old

. That of course coincided with my first crush. It may have been a typical teen crush to everyone else, but to me, my crush on Marcus, the 14 year old neighbor boy, was serious stuff. My heart would pound just thinking about him as I lay on my beanbag chair daydreaming about him in the summer of 92. Unfortunately, the few times he said hi to me, I became a mute. Im not kidding, I would literally be left speechless every time he even looked in my direction. But then afterward, back in my overly frilly bedroom, the one with the walls painted an eye opening lemon yellow and accented with bright pink hand painted Gerber Daisies, which my Mom had modeled after a House Beautiful article she had read titled something like Beautiful Teen Girl Bedrooms Make For Teen Model Behavior, I would sit for hours, colored gel pin in hand, writing his name over and over on ruled paper in one of many spiral notebook dedicated to him. Yes, it was true love.

Confident I would marry him, it was at that age that I began dreaming of a white flowing wedding gown adorned with the tiniest of real pearls and delicate satin piping. I even pictured Marcus in a black tuxedo escorting me down the aisle with my entire 8th grade class sitting in the church pews. Of course, it never occurred to me back then that I would have to live in Arkansas to marry at that age and that I would have to convince my Mother to leave California just so I could marry the love of my life. Nor did it occur to me that it was highly unlikely that Marcuss family would move either. Nonetheless, I dreamed and dreamed big.

So now, two decades later as I diligently plan my wedding to John, the man of my dreams and love of my life, I am determined that my wedding, the one I started planning Twenty years ago, will be perfect. Some things change. Others do not. The groom changed, thats for sure. But the wedding dress I envisioned has not changed. Okay, maybe the design is a bit more modern and the veil I am shopping for now runs to shoulder length instead of trailing 50 feet behind me and out the church door, but I am looking for that bridal gown, the one with the tiniest of pearls and satin piping. It will have a form hugging bodice and flair at the waist just as it did in my 13 Yr old mind. It will be flowing and swish similar to that fabulous hair models hair on the Suave commercial just like I pictured in 1992.

My fiance John is wonderful. He has but one request, a simple one. Ill wear a lavendar tuxedo if thats what you want he said. Ill walk down the aisle naked if thats what you want he added. But please do not ask me to shop for wedding invitations, flowers, favor boxes or even worse, your wedding shoes! I am thinking there should be SOME input from him, so Ill ask him if he would like to purchase groomsman gifts. There, thats done.

Were getting married in the church. The church Ive been attending my entire life. But we havent decided on where the reception will be. Theres always my parents house. And course, we can hold the reception at a park, there are millions of them in California. But park restrooms arent always clean and there arent enough bathrooms at my parents home to accommodate 187 guests, Twenty-Four which may not come because they are from my 8th grade class and I havent seen them in 20 years. (I secretly hope one of them has stayed in touch with Marcus and will let him know Im getting married Or even better, bring him as their guest so he can see what he missed by not marrying me in his Freshman year!)

Adding mobile restrooms to my list of things to shop for, I started looking around online and found a company called Diamond Environmental Services, http://www.diamondprovides.com and let me tell you, they have the most incredible wedding restrooms. Well, maybe there not just for weddings, but they are luxury restroom trailers just the same. Their portable restroom trailers are absolutely beautiful and they have so many different styles that I wasnt sure which one to choose. And this is where my man John rides in like a knight on his white horse saves the day. I am already stressing about cake toppers and flowergirl dresses and have no desire to add portable restrooms to the mix. So I asked John to be in charge of the wedding porta potties and am so relieved that he gracefully accepted.

He looked at all the restroom trailer models that http://www.diamondprovides.com offers and considered each one and then we sat down with the wedding restroom flyers the company provided him with. John is a portable John pro. I was in awe of him as he explained the differences between the restroom trailers. He really did his homework while shopping for our wedding restrooms. One very luxurious restrooms trailer that Diamond offers features skylights, granite counter tops, porcelian urinals, a sound system if you can believe that AND comes with an executive attendant. I really like that one. It has hot and cold running water, air conditioning (and heat which we wont need in July) but it is absolutely exquisite and features beautiful dcor and accents. They even include mints for the guests!

Another one they have that John really likes is a 4 stall luxury wedding trailer. And from the looks of it, I really think the one with 4 stalls is just for weddings! It had tile designed in hearts and was decorated in soft colors. And, it comes with an attendant too! They have a 2 stall wedding trailer, 3 stall wedding trailer rental which also has a handicap restroom, perfect for Aunt Sandy who has been in a wheelchair this summer before last.) They have a 4 stall wedding trailer, a 5 stall wedding trailer, 6 stall wedding trailer, a 7 stall event restroom trailer and the super fancy luxury toilet trailer. And they even have an eco friendly line of solar restrooms! I think were going with either the 6 stall wedding restrooms or the 5 stall extra fancy restroom trailer. Plus I like their company name, Diamond How appropriate and perfect is that for a wedding event! Whatever John decides is fine by me. I trust him to pick the perfect restroom trailer while I shop for the perfect wedding dress, the perfect wedding flowers, the perfect wedding reception facility and the perfect caterer. I already have the perfect groom and he may not make the perfect husband, because I dont think there really is such a thing as a perfect husband, but hell be darn close!
