When thinking about choosing a reception venue for your wedding, there are a few details you need to sort out yourself first. Once these details are sorted out, it is much easier to find a reception venue for your wedding, all you need to do is find a venue which fits your criteria. Here are some considerations:
What Is Your Budget?
Weddings can be expensive, so it is important to understand your budget up front. Most reception venues charge a premium for weddings as they know people spend money. It is a once in a lifetime party after all. As such, keep in mind your budget and strike all potential venues off your list if they cost too much. There are many other expenses you need to cover on the day also.
What Is Your Wedding Theme?
Obviously a beach wedding will require a different venue to a mountain or country theme. So work out what type of wedding you'd like before wasting time looking for a reception venue. This tip could save you days.
How many guests do you expect?
Venues come in different sizes. Your venue needs for a 500 person "Greek" style wedding will be very different to an "elope in Vegas" style of wedding. So make out your guest list first and understand the size of the facilities you will need.

Do you or your guests need to travel? If so, what accommodation facilities are nearby? Remember, people want to celebrate you on this day so being considerate to accommodation options can help ensure the safety of your guests, especially if the wine has been flowing.
