As you are taking the time to write down all of the food that you are eating you may change your eating habits simply because of what you are writing down. There are a lot of people that learn a lot about their eating habits after they are writing down what they eat.

Third, you may have some emotional triggers that cause you to eat. While you are taking the time to figure out what triggers poor habits you may want to meet with a counselor to fully understand your eating habits and problems.

There are a lot of people that will eat because of strong emotions. If you are eating because you are sad or happy or even because you are angry you are eating for the wrong reason and it can become very problematic.

Fourth, you have to make sure that you learn how to only eat food when you know that you are hungry. You should be taking the time to figure out how you can make eating a way to refuel your body rather than feel a gap.

A great way to make this transition is to eat periodically throughout the day. You have to make sure that you are eating protein throughout the day and that you never allow your body to get too hungry.

While you are trying to keep yourself full you want to understand that you should never be so full that you feel sick. Some people will stuff themselves with food until they feel like they will not be able to eat any more.

Finally, you want to make sure that you are taking the time to control when you are eating. You should not be eating food after you have finished dinner because your body will have a hard time digesting the food.

Get in a good habit of taking a 20 min. walk outside or on the treadmill every night after dinner. While you are sleeping your body is not going to be able to efficiently digest the food. You have to make sure that you are allowing your body the proper amount of time to completely digest the food you are eating.
