Looking For The Infertility Cure

As the title of the book "The Infertility Cure: The Ancient Chinese Wellness Program

for Getting Pregnant and Having Healthy Babies" clearly suggests, this book is all about the alternative Traditional Chinese Medicine approach of infertility treatment.

This is not one of those TCM books that focus on the various alternative treatments, but rather this book delves into herbs and acupuncture treatments as an infertility cure based on the author's personal experience.

Authored by Dr. Randine Lewis, "The Infertility Cure" was published on March 21, 2005. Unlike any other infertility treatment resources, this book is a product of proof drawn out from the personal experience of the writer.

This 320-page paperback details how Dr. Lewis treated her own infertility problems with herbs and acupuncture that successfully enabled her to give birth to her two children.

Conveyed in a manner that can be easily grasped by the readers, this book is pretty convincing as it clearly describes how traditional Chinese medicine can be a perfect alternative to Western treatments, which Dr. Lewis describes as invasive, painful and time consuming.

Although, a medical specialist by profession, Dr. Lewis is at the same time a very comprehensive writer that was able to modify and simplify complex terms into simpler terms that can be easily understood by its target readers.

Dr. Lewis, who is a licensed herbalist and acupuncturist, explains in her book that traditional Chinese medicine states that a woman's body must be taken cared of holistically and be gently nourished to be able to bear fruit.

She further explained that most infertility cases are triggered by hormonal imbalances that are deemed untreatable by Western medicine, but surprisingly respond to the Eastern modalities of treatments.

Lewis laid out a theory that the body is composed of four vital substances that include the Ying, Yang, Qi, and the Blood. When these vital energies are imbalanced due to stagnation, deficiency, or excessive energy, it develops negative health conditions such as infertility.

In this book, Lewis was able to effectively weave her experiences, technical program examinations backed by testimonials of her patients as well as presented in a beautiful symmetry of discussions on acupuncture, herbal supplements, diet, and other fertility-related factors.

The way Dr. Lewis presented her medical views on infertility and its relation to the four vital substances that make up the body's organ functions is proof enough that this book is a product of extensive study and research.

Lewis seems to be a very meticulous writer that effectively presented Traditional Chinese Medicine as more than just "pseudo-science" as most Western medical practitioners would claim. However, Lewis stopped short of completely denouncing western medicine stressing that TCM treatments such as herbs and acupuncture are complementary treatments that are not necessarily intended to replace conventional treatments.

All in all, Dr. Lewis' "The Infertility Cure" book is definitely recommended for infertility patients.
