Las Vegas Visitors Take Advantage Of Tours To Grand Canyon National Park
If you go to Vegas, you will find so many things to do there
, you may not want to go anywhere else. That's a mistake that you'll want to avoid. No trip to Las Vegas would be complete without paying a visit to the magnificent Grand Canyon. I guarantee you'll be thrilled if you add the canyon to your list of things to see.
You can see the canyon in several ways include tour by plane, chopper or bus. Those three choices are the most popular for vacationers in Vegas based upon cost and time to spend. If you can spend all day going to the canyon, then choose a scenic bus tour, but if your time is limited, choose a quick helicopter or plane tour. Going by helicopter is the most expensive while going by bus is the most affordable.
While bus tours are great for people on tight budgets, they are also ideal for people who don't want to fly. The tours by bus can go to either the South Rim or the West Rim. The West Rim is a 2-hour bus ride away while the South Rim takes 5 hours. Both of them are over twelve hours long from start to finish. That's why I recommend you avoid making any show or dinner reservations that evening.
Chopper tours of the Grand Canyon are probably the most exciting and provide you with a thrilling adventure. Except on Christmas Day, direct chopper flights from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon West (the West Rim of the canyon) are scheduled on a daily basis. There aren't any direct helicopter flights from Vegas to the South Rim, so you'll need to book a combo tour that also includes a bus ride or a plane flight if you're starting out from Vegas and you want a South Rim helicopter tour. The plane will provide the quickest and most convenient option. The South Rim is a 5- hour bus ride away, but by plane it only takes 45 minutes.
You can choose a landing copter tour or an air-only flight. The landing tours at the West Rim can take you to the floor of the canyon, but elsewhere they land on the top. They also let you add extra experiences like passes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk or a float trip down the Colorado River. I always suggest landing tours for travelers with the time and budget. They provide a more fulfilling, comprehensive canyon experience. Landing isn't necessary though, you can still enjoy this majestic wonder from the air by taking in the awesome scenery from a bird's eye view.
Airplane tours also offer the option to land or view from the air only. Airplanes are the quickest way to travel to the West Rim, bar none. The airplanes usually hold about nineteen people so they are large and comfortable. They are made for sightseeing. Among other things, their wings are attached at the top of the fuselage to permit unobstructed views, and their windows are larger than normal.
If you'll be traveling with a large group, an airplane tour might be the best choice. Choppers only seat six, but your entire group could fly on the same plane and it wouldn't be anywhere near as expensive. Normally you'll be able to book everyone into an airplane tour even if you'll be traveling during tourist season.
