Large Family Reunions - Finding The Right Resort Adventure

When it comes to family reunions, the biggest problem is finding places that are varied enough to adapt to a diversity of interests and activities

. The second problem is finding enough accommodations that are close together or in one house to comfortably fit over 20 people.

Many families resort to the beach, where there is plenty of fun in the waves and walking the beach. Others like the mountains, where there's usually plenty of hiking, biking, or river fun. But if you're family is like most, you have several members that either don't like hiking, or don't like scorching themselves in the sun all day.

But, many of these places wither have houses that only accommodate 14 people or less, or have cottages that are scattered around and house up to 4 to 6 people. Where do you put the extra people, or how do you negotiate family bonding when you have to travel or drag goodies to a main area?

Getting The Family Together

Unfortunately, finding a house that can house more than 20 people is exhausting and choices are severely limited. Finding a place that has an adequate number of cottages in a group area is also difficult to find. To add to these difficulties is the limited choices of activities that they offer.

Unless you want to pile into several cars, rent a bus, and then travel many miles one way or another to enjoy the surroundings, these places don't always add up to a fulfilling reunion.

Taking Stock of Interest Variety

With these limited choices, it's hard to find something that has a little fun for everyone. There is an answer to this dilemma, however, and that is resorts.

When you think resort, you usually have dollar signs running rampant in your mind. But, not all resorts have to cost a great deal of money. They usually have accommodations that will fit your diverse family so that you can all be within throwing distance from each other. They also have gathering areas that are conveniently located near your sleeping areas, so you don't have to cart the baby all over the place.

Another advantage is that resorts offer a wide variety of activities and attractions, so the bug-fearing members can enjoy spa services, indoor pools, and the like; the polo-wearing sports lovers can find a bit of tennis, golf, or shuffleboard; and the hearty grub-eating members can explore caverns, craters, and ride horses through the forest.

Then you can still get together, discover your adventures, and bond in ways you never thought possible!
