It not only says that it will help dieters lose weight; it actually does help dieters lose weight. It's kind of like the guy in high school that threw all the parties. He wasn't very likeable. But he planned a great party. People hung around him because they wanted to be where everyone else was and have fun. It was a get in and get out kind of deal.

That's like the HCG diet. You don't like it because let's face it...it's just not likeable. You can't eat as much as you really want to eat. You can't eat the things that you feel like eating. It's not an enjoyable pass time by any means. But it's popular and it's for one reason and one reason alone. The HCG diet is effective. It actually results in weight loss.

Know your HCG diet basics so you're not surprised:

1. Calorie limitation is required. You're only allowed to eat 500 calories each day. And there are zero days off and zero "free" foods.

2. Lean proteins only. When on the HCG diet you're only allowed to have the specific cuts of lean meat that are listed in the approved list.

3. Do not step foot in the gym. This may sound odd at first, but remember that you'll be limiting yourself to 500 calories each day. That doesn't leave you with a few hundred calories that are "extra" that you can burn at the gym. And attempting to incorporate an exercise program while on the HCG diet will negate the purpose by kicking your body into starvation mode.

4. Portion size limitations. Dieters aren't expected to just "cut back" on their portion sizes. They are expected to learn what a portion size is and then stick to it. They are expected to actually measure foods so they are only eating the exact "single servings" as designated by the HCG diet protocol.

That's generally it. That's the HCG diet. Don't expect it to be fun. Don't expect it to be enjoyable. Don't expect it to be easy either. It's going to be hard and it's going to be less than enjoyable. But the most important aspect of the diet is that it's effective. So THAT you can look forward to.
