Hill stations such as Munnar and Thekkady are popular travel destinations for tourists and backpackers as they offer a wide selection of activities and some spectacular scenery.
The waterfalls of Kerala are other great attractions for nature lovers. Many of Keralas' most beautiful waterfalls are only active in the monsoon but there are plenty of others open in the winter. Valara falls close to the town of Adimali in Idukki are one of the biggest falls in India and are a popular tourist destinations.
