Carrying your baby in your arms is one of things that can really give you great joy

To ensure both safety and comfort for your child, here are some things you should consider when looking at infant swings.
Check the sturdiness of the swing. Make sure it will not topple over as it rocks your child. Generally, the wider the base of the swing, the sturdier it is.
Examine the seat cover. Make sure that it is soft enough to make your baby comfortable. Make sure also that it is removable for easy cleaning.
Find out if the seat can be reclined. For very young babies, you need a seat that can be fully reclined. The basic positions are upright and fully reclined. It would be best though if you could find one that can also be reclined in between these two basic positions.
Check if the head support is adjustable. It is important that it is because as your baby grows you will need to adjust it. It will be very uncomfortable for your child if the head support will not meet his head.
Examine the surfaces for sharp edges. You would not want your baby to be scratched just because there are edges in the swing that have not been smoothened.
Find out if the swing has speed control. See if it will allow for different levels of speed.
Lastly, you must ensure that what you will be buying has a seat belt. This is to prevent your baby from falling of the swing.
