Ideas for a Snowflake Themed Wedding
Winter weddings bring feelings of cozy warmth and happiness and romance
. Having a snowflake themed wedding only intensifies these perceptions. Here are some ideas for creating a romantic snowflake themed wedding that you and your friends and family will remember for a lifetime.
The traditional colors for a snowflake wedding are blue and white. Another color choice includes white and silver or gold with navy or black. Premade invitations are available with snowflake themes or you can add snowflake stamps to your invitations and emboss them to form a raised snowflake image in your color choice.
No two snowflakes are alike, so you should keep this in mind when choosing your decorations. Keep it interesting by selecting a variety of sizes and shapes when using purchased (or homemade) snowflakes. That's not to say every single decoration should be different; but do choose 3 or 4 different snowflake shapes to highlight your decor. Hanging a multitude of snowflakes from the ceiling can create a romantic atmosphere in the most utilitarian spaces. Ribbon with snowflake designs make perfectly themed pew bows while ornaments and snowflake picks make charming additions to the flower arrangements. For a "snowfall" effect, white dot stickers can be sandwiched around white dental floss and hung in a curtain for doorways and areas of your reception to create a realistic, beautiful, and inexpensive snow storm. White tulle with twinkle lights and snowflake confetti can finish off your decorations.
Take some simple, small white tree branches (paint regular branches white) and place them in clear glass vases filled with white crystal gel beads. Hang sparkling snowflakes from the branches and sprinkle snowflake confetti around for a stylish table centerpiece. Another idea is to create "snow" using white crystal gel beads and candles.
If you choose to go with a cupcake wedding cake, have the icing sprinkled with snowflake shaped sprinkles. Or perhaps you prefer starting with a white cake and then having sheer or solid snowflake detailed ribbon encircling the bottom portion of each cake tier. This can reduce costs, since creating delicate snowflakes of any sort, can be quite labor intensive and therefore, fairly expensive. If you are really ambitious you could have the cake "frosted" with coconut to give the appearance of snow. Adding touches of delicate, unique snowflakes to your wedding can be the perfect addition to make your day as perfect as you dream.
