How to choose an Indian wedding venue?

I have seen many wedding venues in india, normaly on a main road in front of the house there is traffic that will be diverted by friends of the family

. The tent will be built on the road and for many days you will see people eating, dancing and gathering on the road in the tent. Once it is over a day or two later, neigbours will also have a wedding. Making best use of same tent. This is called a well pre planned event.

In the UK we want to do that when we see the cost of venues, but unfortunatly we just can't. We respect the law, and our main task is to find the venue that fullfills all our needs for the day.

How to choose? Well, Make the list of people you are inviting, count number of adults, children over 12 years old and the ones just under. Once you know the list of guests look for the venue.

Remember not to add or invite more then the actul numbers, as you may find an issue with the venue povider. Especially the insurance for public libality and the approval status for the maximum capacity. So do not break these rules.

Parking cars for guests especially in london, is a nightmare. Therefore, parking should be available or there should be easy enough transportation to the venue. Also, the security of your guests is also crucial. If it is in a park or a council venue, make sure security is provided.

Make sure the caterer and other wedding services providers are fully aware of the venue and location. Also the arrival time of the guests.

Allow atleast two hours for the wedding services provider to have the seating arranged and also making sure to end the event an hour before the ending time. This will allow for caterers and decorators to remove everything from the venue in appropriate time.

You also need to speak to the care taker for use of kitchen. This includes storage for food, freezing facilities, washing facilities, toilets wash rooms etc.

Make sure you have all the contact details of the venue provider. If you have a caretaker on site then be sure to introduce yourself, have a discussion of your event planning, feed the caretaker on time. If you have hired any equipments such as loud speakers, disco lights and microphones be sure they are all in place on the big day.

Finally, once the event is over and the venue is cleaned up, go around the venue with the caretaker to make sure there aren't any damages. This will enable you to get your deposit back.

If you have any issues on the day you must notify the venue provider, deco services provider or catering services provider instantly. If you feel you have been provided poor service or support and if you are not satisfied, then file your complaint and ask for a copy of their complaints procedure and follow the procedure.
