Everything has to be done in an instant. Just add water and Voila! The problem with all this is that it gives you the idea that weight loss has to be done FAST! And I don't mean reasonably fast, I mean having a couple screws loose fast. I have to admit that the TV and movies don't help. You have to compete with those people on the screen but let's just do a reality check right now. Those people are like you and me. Some of them have the same weight problems we do and some of them have gone to extremes to handle it. But they have money and personal trainers. They have more resources than we do. And, unfortunately, they have ended up being bad role models for us and our children.
Time is not the enemy here. We don't have to lose 20 lbs right now. That's not possible. We need to learn how to diet safely. I know this is going to sound like a TV doctor but you really need to calm down and take a breath. I was exactly where you are right now. I was going from one diet to another. It was causing health problems I wasn't aware of. My metabolism was slowing down due to the yo-yo dieting. I was gaining more weight faster. I was probably better off not going on those fasts and starvation diets. I've spent so much money and here I am.
But I had to come to terms with my weight and my unhealthy eating habits. You can't go from eating pizza and cake one day to not eating at all the next. It's simply unhealthy. I had to wake up and smell the candy bars.
There is no way around it. You have to make changes. But the changes don't have to be radical. There are more than likely healthy habits that you are already using. Well expand on those and introduce habits that you can keep to. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
