Hot Beautiful Rekha
Rekha is one of the most elegant women in the Indian film industry who has dominated the silver screen since she was a young girl
. Even though this beautiful lady has crossed the bar of 50 a few years ago, she still seems to capture us with her enthralling persona. She was born to telegu actors Gemini Ganesan and pushpavalli as Banurekha Ganesan on the 10th October 1954 in Chennai. However Gemini ganesan did not accept his paternity as he was not married to her mother Pushpavalli. Rekha Followed in his footsteps and has been seen as a child artiste in a Telugu movie Rangula Ratnam showcased in 1966. Rekha's performance was widely appreciated by the Industry and claimed the hearts of the audience after which she moved on to experimenting with other projects like Goadalli CID 999 which was her debut Kannada movie in 1969 with Dr. Rajkumar.
In the early 70's saw Rehka as a debutant actor in the Bollywood industry with a movie called Sawan Bhadon opposite actor Navin Nischol. This movie brought out Rekha's mesmeric sensuality and a bold representation which was very rare at that time in Indian cinema. She achieved great success at that time as the first 'sex symbol' of Bollywood. She was noticed by various film makers as an asset to entice a new generation audience. This is when she had done a series of movies such as 'Rampur Ka Lakshman', 'Kahani Kismat ki', 'Namak Haraam' and 'Dharam Karam'.
The turning point in her career for which she got performance oriented recognition was when she worked with Amitabh Bachchan in a movie 'Do Anjaane' in 1976 which received significant success. Rekha continued climbing up the ladder of wealth prosperity working with Mr. Bachchan in movies like 'Alaap' and 'Khoon Pasina'. She was glorified when she played the role of a prostitute in 'Muqaddar Ka Sikander' . Another earth shattering role she played was that of Aarti Chandra, a victim of rape in 'Ghar', alongside actor Vinod Mehra in 1978. Both these movies changed the life of the ever so patient Rekha. This is when her career was reaching its peak and her ability and acting skills were recognized by audiences all over the country.
Following this success she was casted in 'Khoobsoorat', a film by Hrishikesh Mukherjee where she plays the role of a school girl whose sister marries into a highly disciplined family. Rekha won the filmfare award for best actress as Bubbly Manju. She was part of a film which was a slightly modified version of the Mahabharata and this movie was called 'Kalyug' made by Shyam Benegal after this she was seen acting with Amitabh Bacchan for the last time in the movie 'Silsila' with Jaya Bachchan. This movie exposed an illicit affair between the two, this gave rise to various rumors of Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan being entangled together in a relationship when he was married. Even after all this infamous glory she was not brought down and only lifted herself higher in Umrao Jaan where she plays the role of a courtesan for which she won a National Film Award for best actress. Rekha here, was in the prime of life with all her achievements in the movies that she had done. Other brilliant movies which were done by her were Baseraa, Ek Hi Bhool, Jeevan Dhaara, Utsav, Ijaazat, Khoon Bhari Maang where she played the role of being re incarnated after being attacked by crocodiles and Jeevan Dhara. These movies got Rekha into the limelight again as she won a filmfare award for both of them. In Mira Nair's internationally acclaimed Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, Rekha took on the role of a Kama Sutra teacher who is called Rasa Devi. In 1996 she won yet another filmfare award (best supporting actress) for Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, a movie she stars in with Ravina Tandon and Akshay Kumar. She did not stop at this but went on to doing movies like Shyam Benegal's Zubeidaa where she is a Regal Maharani (a royal queen). The next one was Lajja where she was Raamdulari. The movie focused on revolting against female infanticide and injustice of women that prevailed in rural villages in India. In 2003 she played the role of Hrithik Roshan's mother in Koi Mil Gaya and its sequel Krrish. It has been stated that she will also appear in Krrish 2.

With Fame and Fortune came Name and Rumors. Rekha being the most seductive icon from the early 1970's was always associated with having implicit relationships with various film actors such as Amitabh Bacchan, Kiran Kumar etc. There was a lot of talk that she was married to Vinod Mehra which later in a interview with Simi Garewal she admitted to have clarified that she was not married to him. She then married businessman Mukesh Aggarwal in 1990 who committed suicide the year later. This powerful lady carries herself with that much of dignity and excitement today just as she did in the yester years of her life. She now lives in Bandra with her secretary Faazana.
Not much information is given about her doing movies but the secret to her evergreen, never aging beauty is yoga, a wholesome diet, and a regular, regimented life. Rekha herself says "everyone is beautiful at the time of birth but it is one own representation of themselves that makes them or breaks them therefore yoga and exercise helps maintain that childhood within. Once that is taken care of it shows on the on our exteriors that we are young and forever." In utter seriousness she goes on to explain how meditation has been an important part of her life. She owes all her happiness to this theory of life that has helped her throughout her journey of life. She exclaims that it is this simple understanding of life that enables her to smile.
