For a lot of people, weight gain seems to happen suddenly
. The truth of the matter is, they simply were not mindful of their destructive eating habits which have caused them to insidiously gain all the extra weight. These are little habits that look harmless such as eating midnight snacks or skipping breakfast.
Often, these same people want to get rid of the weight quickly and many of them resort to weight loss products that promise to deliver what they want. This is of course unrealistic because it took time for the extra weight to accumulate and therefore it would also require some time to take it all off. When it comes to weight loss products one needs to be wary. There are many that do not really work and are merely hyped by advertisers in order to make consumers buy. Then there are also supplements that do work but contain elements that wreak havoc on the system such as ephedra which was banned by the FDA for a year. It has now it has made its way back to the market.
When they cannot see results, these people become depressed. And desperate dieters can go through overwhelming emotions. For people who are excessively overweight, losing weight can even become an obsession. Instead of focusing on their feelings of frustration, they should instead be more determined to find the answer to their problem.
There is no shortage of weight loss methods available in the market. They range from diet supplements to exercise videos, diet patches to even hypnosis. Despite the literally hundreds of products and services available, the number of people suffering from weight gain and obesity continue to grow. In fact, the situation in America has been described as having reached epidemic proportions and health experts as well as nutritionists are understandably worried.
People point to various reasons behind their failure to achieve weight loss. Some blame themselves for their lack of discipline, some think it is due to the mediocrity of their chosen weight loss method and some even say it is the food that they eat. Actually, all of these may have an effect on weight gain or in the failure to lose weight.
Aside from those mentioned above, there is a less obvious reason for the lack of weight loss success. Most people are not aware that there are certain elements in the food we eat that actually promote weight gain.

Iprodone - Iprodone is a carcinogen which is found in both animals and humans. When ingested accidentally, Iprodone can result in weight gain and other health consequences.
Phosmet - This is another carcinogen and it attacks the reproductive system. This element can also be considered as an offset for hormonal imbalance.
Azinphos - Azinphos is another element that we should be careful not to ingest accidentally. It can interfere with hormones thereby causing hormonal imbalance.
Fungicides There are many different types of fungicides but all of them can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract.
