First, however, you want to choose what type of hair color you are looking for. If you are looking for something that is not too harsh and that is just temporary, the Natural Instincts brand might be right for you. It does not contain ammonia, so it is gentler, and you can get the non-permanent kind that gradually fades in a few months. If you are looking for something more outlandish, however, you might want to look at Manic Panic, which is fun, wild dye known for its wide variety of bright colors.
Keep in mind that if you want to go lighter, such as brown to blond, or go brighter, such as brown to bright orange, you may need to bleach the hair first. Take some time to think about before doing it, because bleach is really quite bad for hair and it does not fade out. Be sure it is something you want to do, because the bleach can damage hair and it will not be fixed until it grows out.
It can be fun to dye your hair for special occasions. Some cool hair color ideas for Christmas include doing a nice, warm auburn color, which is a great winter shade.
