Gift Ideas For Men Of All Years
Men what do we know about them? Well, they are from Mars
, right? Okay, so that is not strictly true (as far as we know) but it certainly does feel as if they are sometimes, especially when it comes to buying gifts for men! Buying gifts for the men in your life is especially hard if you have to buy for men of all ages and all years. In these circumstances it is often necessary to get your thinking cap on and try to categorise the men folk in your life, in order to give yourself the broadest range of options available!
Let us start with the younger little 'men' in our lives. Those under the age of ten should be fairly easy to shop for. Usually a toy that makes lots of noise or can be dismantled and put together again is a sure fire hit (you may indeed find these trends continue into later life!). Character toys are also popular with the under tens, so simply surf your satellite channels to get an idea of what is popular with the young folk these days! A great tip to remember when it comes to buying for the younger men in your life, is that kids love things with their name on. Choosing a personalised gift or card for young ones is a guaranteed way to make them feel special and to make your present appear all the more wonderful!
Those who are developing into men, those commonly referred to as 'teenagers' can be much more difficult to shop for! Yes, buying gifts for men certainly seems to get more difficult the older they get! Teenagers can usually be pacified with a musical gift or something 'technology based'. Although, it is worth remembering that no matter what you get, even if they think it is awesome, they will probably not respond with much enthusiasm! If you want to get your teenager up and about, then why not try something cool such as a Junior Rally Driving Day, Paint Balling Battle or even enrolling them in Spy Academy! Super cool gifts such as these are sure to give them something to grunt to their mates about, send pics on their mobiles, or blog about( if they do any of these things you know you truly have succeeded in buying an awesome gift!).
When buying gifts for men in their twenties think 'gadgety, but cool'. Items such as novelty electronics (think toy helicopters, mini fridges, stuff like that) will always go down well. Other options include funny stuff they can show off to their mates such as 'who tall are you mirrors' or night vision goggles will work a treat.
By the time a man gets into his thirties you can bet his hobbies and interests are pretty much solidified. This makes buying gifts for men in their thirties relatively easy. If he likes football, get him a shirt from his favourite team, but with his name on it instead. Loves golf? Personalised golf balls! Anything that is even remotely to do with his favourite hobby will see you earn a 'gift buying goddess tag' in his heart!
Buying gifts for men in their forties can be harder than shopping for teenagers! They more than likely have enough money to have bought themselves every single gadget or gizmo on the market that they could possibly want! So, the next best option is to go for a day out. Take them out for a meal at their favourite restaurant, on a wine or whiskey tasting day trip or push the boat out and take them on holiday! Let them enjoy the finer things in life (including your company) and it will be a good job done all round.
Buying gifts for men in their fifties and sixties can be summed up in one word gardening! At this age men love to potter about in the garden and in their shed, so tools, stools, buckets, hoes - anything to do with the garden will go down a treat! Buy him a book on gardening tips or things to do in a shed, a packet of seeds and a gardening knee pad and he should be a happy old man!
If you are buying gifts for men in their seventies (or even older) then you are looking at sentimental and comforting gifts or useful aids. For example, slippers, hand or foot warmers, a foot stool, a walking aid, a magnifying glass for reading, etc. Remember, this man has seen it all, done it all and now just wants to whine about the kids next door playing football in his drive and have a nice cup or tea... If you are really stuck for ideas, why not just opt for a personalised card and bake him a really nice cake!
