Trying to make it through a fast weight loss plan and escape unscathed at the end
? Maybe the plan you've chosen involves 6+ hours at the gym each day with a personal trainer in tow. Or maybe the weight loss plan you've chosen is the popular homeopathic HCG weight loss plan. There are a variety of options when it comes to fast weight loss out there. The dieting options are variable. We've talked about identifying effective methods and choosing the one that will work for you individually in previous articles.
And we're not going to talk about that again today. Today we've got something new to talk about. We're going to talk about the fact that we've got a problem. It's not you; it's me. Just kidding. It's not and it's not me...it's all of us! We are all getting far too negative. And it's haunting us in our dieting attempts.
When it comes right down to it many of us are our very own worst critics. That's not a good thing. Because while that point is arguable...no one will argue the point that positive reinformcement is more effective than negative reinforcement. It's a fact.
When dieters are trying to get through a tough dieting program will there be mistakes made? Of course there will be. There will typically be a mistake here and there. It's only natural. It's only natural because we're human. The most the majority of dieters can hope for is that that mistakes aren't huge. Small mistakes are easier to recover from and have smaller repercussions. Mistakes have a wide range of severity all the way from a bit of A1 with your lean steak at dinner to a night out at Cheesecake Factory with appeitizers, bread, a main course, AND dessert.
You could go the remainder of your week repeatedly reminding yourself about this mistake; beating yourself up about it. Maybe you would sit down and count up how many calories you really ate that night (appetizer plus the meal plus the dessert). Maybe you would attempt to decide how many days you'd have to eat nothing in order to break even after indulging in all those extra calories.
But acting that way would do nothing but compound your mistake. When you make a mistake when you are on a fast weight loss plan the best way to handle the mistake is to take note of it. After taking note you should then attempt to identify exactly what caused you to make the decisions that you did that led to the mistake. Decide to do better. Decide that you will avoid those situations in the future. And then...move on.
It's come to my attention recently that there are those out there who have no inkling of the meaning of the phrase "moving on." And we should all get a hold of that phrase and incorporate it appropriately in our lives. It's a lovely concept with such amazing possibilities. But since some say they don't "get it" we'll go through it step by step. After you make a mistake you take note of it; write it down or say it loud. Know that you are not going to do it again. And that's it. Then you don't dedicate a lot of mental time to it anymore. It should never be your new mental focal point. That would be straight up negative thinking. Instead you have to think positively and turn away from your mistake and back towards drastic weight loss.
For example, think about a perfect day. Or think about the potential perfect day if you haven't had one yet. The perfect day will depend upon which plan you are on and what the requirements are. But if you consider this concept in relation to the homeopathic HCG diet you will find that you can replace the memory of your Cheesecake Factory extravaganza with a perfect morning. You can wake up and weight yourself. You can take your HCG and other vitamins/supplements. You can make a huge pot of herbal tea and drink your fill. You can drink 3 huge glasses of water before it's time to start thinking about lunch.
On the homeopathic HCG diet that would be a perfect morning. This is something to focus on. This is something to congratulate yourself for. The mistake still happened. It didn't disappear or go away in any way. But you are now back on track. Quit bemoaning the fact that the mistake happened. Quit wishing you had more will power "that night" and instead congratulate yourself for the wonderfully perfect morning you had the next day. And think about the numbers on the scale going down the next time you weigh yourself. We all know that people in general respond better to kindness. And that works on an individual basis, too. Be kind to yourself while you're on a strict diet. It's tough and you're doing your best.
