For those of you have naturally wavy hair, this should be a blessing because you do not have to fight your natural waves anymore and waste time straightening your hair. But even if you have perfectly straight hair, you can create this style by following a few simple steps.
The first tip for waves that last is not to try creating this style on just washed hair. Clean hair does not have the tendency to hold on to curls and waves and your style will go flat within hours. If you want a wavy hairstyle that lasts, wash your hair a day before but not on the day that you want to carry this look.
The second important step is to use the right products. If you have straight hair, wash your hair a day before with a volume enhancing shampoo and conditioner. This will give more texture to your hair and make it easier to work with. Then before curling your hair, use a curling mouse, cream or gel that has strong hold so that it helps your hair hold on to the curl and not lay flat.
There are two options for curling your hair. You can either use curling irons or rollers, whichever is more convenient for you. Curling irons are usually easier to work with unless you are good at using rollers. Pin up your hair, letting only a few strands loose at a time and start curling them one by one until you are done with all your hair. If you are using rollers, let your hair loose and apply the rollers, pinning them up one by one as you go along. Leave them on for some time and remove them very gently.
Once you are done with curling all your hair, lightly pull your fingers through your hair to set the curls and loosen them up a little bit. Finish off with a good hairspray that will ensure that your style stays put throughout the day.
