Focus On These Simple Guidelines To Make Weight Loss Easy & Fun
Many of us have a little extra stomach fat hanging around that we would like to get rid of
. But the problem is that it's so hard to figure out what to do to reach our goals. So then we resort to quick fixes and expensive diets that will supposedly work, only to be disappointed yet again and not lose the weight (or just gain it back after a couple months)
I want to cut through all the bad advice and false hope that you may have and tell you the truth: It takes hard work and discipline to lose weight and be in the best shape of your life. Now I know that's not what you want to hear, but anyone who tells you otherwise is just full of it.
If it was easy to stay slim and physically fit, then EVERYONE would be that way, and you probably wouldn't be reading this article. The truth can be hard to swallow sometimes, but it's necessary to face it so you can move on and work toward your goals.
So now that you know the truth, let's start simple and work on one thing at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself with 100 books or by trying to do everything at once. You'll just get discouraged because it's too much at one time. Take it slowly and you'll reap rewards.
First things first...do you have a plan?
Start off by making some goals. Be specific, don't just think to yourself, "I want to lose weight." Instead make goals for yourself like I want to lose 15 pounds in the next 2 months. Make sure they're realistic too, sure it'd be nice to lose 60 pounds in 10 days, but it simply isn't going to happen.
Breaking down your goals into smaller chunks also greatly helps. If you want to lose 15 pounds in 2 months, then all you need to do is about 8 pounds per month, or 2 pounds per week! That seems easy doesn't it?
After you have some goals, write them down and figure out what you're going to do to reach them. You should set up small goals for yourself that you can work on every day. Things like, "I'm going to use the smaller plate and eat smaller portions at each meal," and "I'm going to work out at least 3 times per week." Then define your workouts.
When you make small goals that are easy to reach you will be encouraged when you reach them and finally feel like you can achieve what may have seemed impossible before.
Write down everything!
Keeping logs of your progress will help you continue working at it and moving forward. If you don't keep track of anything you will become discouraged because it's easy to forget progress and only focus on what's left to get done.
