Finding Your Best Way after a Breakup: Moving On Alone

Author: TW Jackson

It's hard to know the best way after a breakup. Moving on might seem about as possible as moving a mountain to you but taking small steps in the right direction will make your goal of moving past the heartbreak and moving on with your life much more achievable. Those itty bitty baby steps you take in the first few days after a breakup will set the tone for how quickly you are able to get back on your feet and back in action. Getting a little action might be the furthest thing from your mind at the moment but there will come a day when you'll find yourself obsessing over just a taste (kind of like in the old days right?). That day will come before you know it if you follow this handy dandy guide to moving forward and getting it right. Stop kicking yourself. You're already down and out. You don't need to sit around wallowing in your misery and giving yourself a few extra kicks for good measure. The relationship has ended and the best time to learn those valuable lessons for the next time is when the wounds aren't quite this raw. Work it out. Not the kind of working it out you're thinking of I'm sure. What I mean is that you need to go find a punching bag or a kickboxing DVD and work out all the anger, frustration, and hurt you are feeling. There's nothing quite as thorough as physical exertion to help you sort out your jumbled emotions. Regardless you'll be so tired from the effort that you'll fall into bed and sleep without dreaming or tossing and turning with regrets. If you really need something to kick this is the way to go by far. Kick life into high gear. When you're in a relationship things often get put on hold. Many of the things you had always hoped to do in life get shoved to the back burner and some of them you give up on altogether. Now is the time to pull them off the shelf, through them on the fire, and really get cooking. Take the dream vacation, learn to fly, or go climb a volcano. Do whatever it is that you've always wanted to do. You may never get the chance again and nothing will feel as much like living; really living, as this. There really is no best way after a breakup. Moving on will take however long it takes. If you do these things above though you'll find that it doesn't feel like quite the eternity you fear it will be.About the Author:
