There are several attractions that the whole family will love to explore. Just outside of the Santa Cruz resort the Loro Parque, a fantastic zoo which is home to many wild animals. Expect to see the amazing dolphin and sea lion shows that take place every day, there is even an aquarium that houses several species of shark. The park also has a penguin enclosure, make sure you visit during feeding time for a great show! Lora Parque is a great day out that all the family will enjoy.
For a more adventurous excursion head to Adeje and visit the largest water park in the whole of Europe. Siam Park opened in 2008 and is a firm family favourite with over 14 different water slides. Whether you want to try an adrenaline fuelled ride or simply relax in a whirlpool, Siam Park offers something to suit the whole family. There are several cafes and restaurants inside the park, making it an ideal place to spend a family day out.
One of the best places to visit during a holiday in Tenerife is the famous Mount Teide, the highest in Spain. Take a cable car up to the summit and enjoy the breathtaking views across the island, the surrounding area makes up the Teide National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Along with these great attractions, families can relax on the numerous beaches that line the Tenerife coastline. Many of the beaches offer great water sport facilities; from sailing to scuba diving there is something to suit all tastes. The best beaches on the island are Playa de Jardin and Playa de las Americas, ideal for families as they are safe and not as crowded as other resorts.
Tenerife is a great place to spend quality time with all the family. The sheer amount of things see and do mean that the only problem you may have is trying to fit it all into one break! As a child-friendly destination, Tenerife is definitely ahead of the rest!
