Every Time You Don't Quit With Your Weight Loss Plans You Win

Many of us make resolutions at the start of each year to lose some weight so we start an exercise program or a healthy eating plan

. But most of these plans go by the wayside after a few weeks or months when it is realized that losing weight is a lifetime goal not something you just do for a short period of time then go back to old habits.

After all you cannot be overweight if:

your everyday lifestyle does not support it

if you do not allow yourself to eat too much

if you have made a daily schedule that allows time for proper exercise

Keep in mind that once we become even slightly overweight if we wish to return to our former slim and trim selves it is a lifetime project. You will never stop working to maintain your strength, fitness and body weight EVER.

This is why it is important to be able to sustain your exercise program and eating plan FOREVER. Your exercise program needs to be done a minimum of 2-3 times each week. The better the program the more effective it is and the less you will need to do it. The more effort you can put into it the less you will also need to do it.

Many people go to the gym but they fail to put even 50 percent effort into their program. It should be more like 80 percent if you wish to change your body and speed up your metabolism. This means your muscles need to be toned so they burn more fuel and this will require a bit of effort with strength training to get them running at their best.

When you start an exercise program make sure your attitude is aligned with what you want to achieve. Chase away any negative thoughts you have and replace them with a positive mindset that will serve you better such as:

Exercise is:

some "me time" and a break from a stressful workday

a surefire way to boost energy and mood

the only time you will have for yourself all day

a chance to get physical which is what your body needs

time to let your mind rest and reboot itself

a chance to improve your quality of life immediately

You will not always want to exercise and eat healthy but your results will come from 80 percent of what you do each day. There is a bit of 'wiggle' room and you do not have to be perfect as that is simply not possible.

Be prepared to regularly assess your goals and modify them if needed. Expect some obstacles and decide beforehand how you will overcome them. Have two solutions for every problem and you should be able to work around it. Every success story has a background of obstacles and stumbles. The only difference between getting in shape is how you respond to those obstacles because they happen to everyone.

So whether you slipped up for a day, a week, a month, or since day one, you can still revamp your attack, pick things up and get back to it. You have only lost the fight when you quit. And every time you do not quit, you win.
