There are many ways to ruin your diet or at least make success almost impossible, but conversely there are numerous ways to make your dieting attempts easier and increase their chances of success. Some bad ideas likely to decrease chances of success include not planning at least the first few days of food, not getting rid of unhealthy junk food, and totally avoiding and exercise and activity. Read on for a few ways to make your diet go far simpler and easier and have more chances of success.
Always keep appropriate food on hand for your diet, especially in the beginning. For example, if you work you need to plan your lunches, bringing them with you if required. For my current diet, this includes fresh vegetables and whole grain crackers
Until your diet is well on its way, avoid overly tempting environments. For example, I avoid happy hours with free appetizers. Even if I have a diet soda, everyone having appetizers around me is too tempting in the beginning. After a couple of weeks of dieting success, this is much easy to successfully navigate.
Know your shortcomings and strengths. For example, I can go to a local Indian buffet and eat very healthily sticking to vegetarian items and have a great meal. A visit to the Chinese buffet will always result in a pig out however, no matter how small.
Expect to fall of your diet very occasionally, but if and when it happens, make it a gentle fall. Don't be too harsh on yourself and so not let it be an excuse to eat everything you want. Gentle mistakes are to be expected.
