Diamonds are a Girls best friend, or so the saying goes. I remember just a few years ago being a nervous man thinking about proposing to my girlfriend of two years. I was a nervous man in need of a diamond ring that told my sweetheart how much I loved and cared about her. She is a very particular woman, and only the right diamond would do, not too big but not too small either. I knew she wanted white gold, but gold was not what mattered the most to her, it was the diamond. I needed a diamond that matched her. I needed a piece of custom jewelry with a special diamond, and I needed it for a good price.The first thing I needed to consider was the size of diamond. I didnt need something from the Crown jewels. I was considering between a karat and a whole karat. The prices made me decide on the karat size, a good compromise in price but not in beauty. I thought a nice karat diamond would look awesome on my loves finger and give other guys the clue that this woman was taken. The next thing was the shape. I didnt like princess cut. Square cut to me was a little old fashioned. My Mother and Grandmother both wore diamonds with a square cut, but I knew it just wasnt my girlfriend. I wanted the circular cut. I also wanted six prongs to hold the diamond on. Four was just too risky in my mind, and besides most circular cut diamonds used six.I started checking the jewelry stores. After a few days of narrowing down what I wanted I decided on a piece of custom jewelry. I started looking for a reasonable price and good service. After two days of search, I hadnt found the right jeweler.After calling my buddy, he told me to check out West and Company custom jewelers. I was impressed by their knowledge, and good service. I decided to buy from them, and they put together a fine engagement ring with a karat diamond. I was about as thrilled as a guy could be with the ring.
