Dealing with Breakups
Splitting up with your partner is never easy, I understand
, I've experienced it many a time myself. Some times on account of my actions, sometimes resulting from hers. In either case, it's never easy, but I do believe I have found some methods of dealing with it just that bit better, which ends up with me being back to my normal, fun loving self, in no time at all.
As hard or as difficult as it may seem, you should certainly cut off all ties immediately with that person. You may have been together for years, but keeping in touch with them is only likely to drag the procedure out for longer, hurting you more and more along the way. If your 100% positive about breaking up with this person, as stated, you'll want to restrict all ties. That means removing them from your life completely. As hard as it might seem, you need to get rid of any photo's of you and this person together, it is advisable to delete their telephone number, dispose of or sell any items which this person bought you, as when you catch site of them, thoughts of the person can come flooding back. You have to eradicate them out of your life altogether. This might even mean cutting off certain friend if you have to. Your life along with your wellbeing are serious issues, and the sooner you can move onto pastures new, the better.
Once you've followed these steps, you obviously will want to start having fun alone and with friends again. Hopefully, you didn't cut off friends that you knew before hooking up with this person, as you'll need them more than ever. Should you have no friends, just make brand new ones. Find some hobbies to fill up your time, and don't even take into consideration jumping straight back into another relationship, you'll need some me time'. Take a couple of hours to sit down on your own, and think about what you could have missed out on whilst you were with this person. Perhaps you wanted to go to a music event, which this person wasn't keen on, perhaps you wished to take up an activity or dancing class, and this person put you off. Do a list of all of the thing's you wish to do, and then and there, seizing the moment and momentum, research into it, making calls if need, to get it done. Get social, so do everything you desired to undertake but missed out on. Not only will this fill your spare time, but you'll also have loads of fun in the act.
The key is to get yourself back on your feet again as quickly as possible, and only you can make it happen.
