Dating Advice for Men—The Most Common Mistakes You Make
Hey guys. I know you must feel "bummed out" at the moment. Three rejections in one night! That's cold. Why all of this rejection
? Why can't you find a girlfriend when even your weird friend Victor is capable of getting phone numbers? It's probably because you are falling into the trap of being Mr. Nice Guy. Mr. Nice Guy, as nice as he is, makes three common mistakes in dating. Learning these mistakes and avoiding them is your first lesson in dating advice for men.
The first mistake our proverbial guy makes is failing to go for the quick come-on. If the man feels nervous, he may choose to retreat rather than go out phone number hunting. This counts against him. If he by some chance bumps into her, he is so determined not to sound too needy that he lets her get away without asking for a contact number. In a desperate attempt to keep her in his life, he invents all sorts of excuses on why he needs to see her again in a platonic sense. Guess what? This guy is well on his way to becoming a friend forever. Our first point of dating advice for men is to stop being afraid. It gets you nowhere.
The second most common mistake a guy can make is being boring, predictable and worse yet, persistent without reason. It's bad enough when a guy can think of nothing new, funny or interesting to say. Combine this awful repertoire with a mind-numbingly repetitive pick up line and you have one annoying human being. Not only will this woman not want to go out with you, she will cheer when she hears you are dead. Our second dating advice for men is this: if you are persistent (and you should be) vary your methods. Try something new. Say something new. Be as unique as possible.
The third most common mistake a guy can make is coming on too strong. This poor fellow is so misdirect in trying to understand "modern" dating advice for men that he goes overboard. He is cocky, arrogant and sometimes even mean-spirited. He thinks this is what women want. Wrong, pal! Our third point of dating advice for men is to focus on being fun (funny, entertaining, smart) rather than just plain out obnoxious.
The best dating advice for men I can give to men is that they focus less on being Mr. Perfect, and instead focus more on being themselves.
