Combat Infertility Through Meditation
Infertility can be a traumatic experience for a woman to go through
. From her perspective it may seem like every other woman is having a child. If it is let to control your life infertility can make you miserable, stressful and frustrating.
In America, approximately 10 million women who are childbearing age suffer from infertility. Medicine has come a long way toward helping these women to have kids but it is not perfect by a long shot.
Stress can be a factor leading to infertility. So, one of the most important things you can do is care about and love yourself. Infertility is not a punishment that God has enacted on you for something you have done wrong or a conspiracy by the government. Reduce your stress and you might be able to increase your chances of becoming pregnant. I will show you some techniques you can use to do just this.
A study at Faulkner Centre for Reproductive Medicine conducted a study of 54 women who were taught stress reduction techniques. These women were asked to spend 20 minutes a day using these techniques for a period of ten weeks. At the end of the study 34% of these women became pregnant. This is a higher percentage than is normally achieved by women who are being treated for infertility.
There are two glands in the human body that are mostly responsible for releasing stress hormones. These are the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus has a second function in that it sends out chemical signals to the pituitary gland to produce two hormones that encourage ovulation. If the stress hormones that cause this process to happen are overproduced then menstruation and ovulation can happen irregularly or even stop.
Meditation can help you gain your fertility if you have lost it and are still of the ideal age to conceive a child. Lowering your stress can make all the difference in the world.
Here is a meditation you can try:
Sit in a comfortable chair or on the ground indian style. Keep your back perfectly straight and put your hands, palm up, on your knees. The placement of the hands place important signifigance on your willingness to be receptive. Take slow and deep breaths. In your mind, picture a powerful divine energy. It can be whatever you like. Maybe it is Allah or Buddha, himself. Everytime you breathe in you are inhaling his love. As you continue to do this the love builds up and you are surrounded by a rose colored light.
The voice starts repeating "You are perfect. I love you." over and over. Start repeating the same phrase to yourself. You are feeling so accepted both by this divine power and by yourself. Keep breathing deeply. Continue this for 20 minutes and you are finished with your daily meditation for love and acceptance. This exercise should also help relieve your stress.
