Chiropractor Las Vegas Nv | Simple Treatment For Neck Pain
The vast majority of jobs require computer usage and with so many of us sitting and staring at a computer screen is it really a wonder why we have neck pain
? Technology has made life easier, but it has done little good for our necks, backs, and shoulders.
The human head weighs an average of twelve pounds. This means that even a sight misalignment in the neck gives way to neck strain, neck pain, back pain, and headaches. This is probably no surprise to you. You are probably reading this looking for a cure. In this case, the simplest of answers may be your best bet to get that head and neck pain to go away permanently.
Strengthen and Stretch the Neck:
With time, the muscles of the neck grow weak. Throw in years of bad posture and the head slowly drifts out of alignment. The added pressure on the neck makes the nerves swell. Strengthening the neck muscles combined with correct posture will make neck problems begin to vanish.
A simple head tilt is a good beginning. From a forward facing neutral position, keep the head straight and tilt to the right (ear towards shoulder). Then repeat the process on the other side. Keep it slow and steady for 5 to 10 repetitions.
Then, tilt the head front-to-back. Again start from a forward facing neutral position. Carefully tilt your head forward tucking the chin. Hold a few seconds then tilt the head back as far as comfortable. Hold for a few more seconds and repeat the entire sequence 5 to 10 times.
The last step is to rotate the head from side to side. Start by rotating the head towards the right keeping your chin parallel to the floor. When you have turned as far as comfortable, hold a few seconds. Repeat the process in the left directions. The sequence should be repeated 5 to 10 times.
Massage Relieves Back Pain:
Besides being extremely relaxing, massage actually helps in relieving neck pain. There are times when there is just too much tension in the neck and shoulders to experience relief. This is where an experienced massage therapist comes in handy. Heated oils and trained hands can gently relieve the tension and relax the neck. A short massage can melt away neck pain.
Chiropractic Help:
The chiropractor's office offers more than spinal manipulation. The team can offer physical therapy, massage, electronic stimulation, support aides, and nutrition guidance.
As barbaric as electronic stimulation sounds, it is very similar to a massage. Pads are placed precisely on the neck for optimal relief. Then, depending on the settings, muscles contract and release simultaneously or alternatively for about 15 minutes.
Any adjustments that are made to the neck would occur after electronic stimulation and massage. Neck adjustments consist of quick movements that work to realign the vertebrae in the neck and back. You may hear a "popping" sound when adjustments are made. This is perfectly safe and is only the releasing of gases as the vertebrae are realigned. It is similar to cracking the knuckles and causes no harm whatsoever.
