Celine Dion Performs in Vegas
It's undeniable that Canadian songstress Celine Dion has been one of the most influential ballad singers of the past few decades
. With instantly recognisable hits such as The Power of Love, Think Twice and, of course, My Heart Will Go On from the soundtrack of the much-idolised tragic romance Titanic, it's really no surprise that Dion is known the world over for her music and unique voice.
And in spite of being in the business for over two decades, Dion is still going strong and is even about to embark on a new three year contract at a top Vegas casino - Ceaser's Palace. The singer has already made the most of a residency at the casino in the past, having played shows exclusively in its Colosseum auditorium between 2003 and 2007. Over the course of these years, Dion played hundreds of nights at the venue, most of which were routinely sold out such was the singer's popularity.
Once the contract was up, Dion left to return to the studio and had a second child in 2009. After further breaks, the singer announced she would be returning to Ceaser's Palace in 2011 for a new run of shows taking place over three years. Performing 70 shows per year, Dion aims to still have plenty of time to spend with her family whilst offering the same entertainment she loves doing - and also give herself time to work on her upcoming two albums, one of which is in French while the other is in English.
The new residency has the theme of Hollywood cinema and is set to focus on the romance of Hollywood flicks whilst incorporating all of Dion's best-loved songs. So far, it has been described as being unique and one of a kind, meaning audiences can expect a once in a lifetime experience as Dion and her co-performers blend together an exciting mix of music, dance and visual effects in a show that will likely reference many of Hollywood's best known romance movies.
Those hoping to catch Celine Dion in action should take note to try to get tickets as soon as possible. Since her previous set of gigs over the last decade sold out when she was performing 200 times a year, it is likely that this upcoming series of just 70 per year will sell out extremely quickly - so think about booking your tickets and
