We've all been there
We've all been there. You meet a great man, he takes your number and you wait for him to call. The first couple of days, you can hardly contain your excitement, waiting for the phone to ring at any moment. Then reality hits you with a thud. What if he's not going to call at all? As the days pass by, frustration sets in and you start to wonder if men can ever be trusted. So how can you handle this disappointment and what should you do when he doesn't call?
The first thing to remember is that not every man who takes your number is going to call you. This is just the way it is, so don't get hung up on it because there's nothing you can do to change this. A man may get carried away in the moment, and ask for your number even though he knows he probably won't call. Or he may fully intend to call, but for his own reasons he decides against it.
You can beat your head against the wall, trying to fathom out what you did wrong or what's wrong with him when he doesn't call. My advice to you is don't bother. Just remember that when you give your number out, he may call you or he may not. Either is OK because you are cool enough to accept that it's his choice and your self esteem does not depend upon him calling.
By the way, when you give your number to a man, don't ever ask if he intends to call you. You may have been hurt in the past by men who took your number and didn't call but advertising this fact is not going to persuade the next one to be any different.
If you offered him your number, then shame on you! No wonder he doesn't call. He probably thinks you are pushy and desperate and wonders why you need to give out your number. Men will generally assume that an attractive woman is either with a man or being chased by other men. Your job is to flirt with him to show your interest and see whether he wants to pursue you.
If a man has taken your number and didn't call, and you bump into him at a later date, what should you do? Act like you didn't even notice. Smile and say "Hi" but don't make any further attempt to engage him in conversation. If you act like you were not bothered by the fact that he didn't call you are sending out the message that you are a powerful woman who has it all together. He may be intrigued enough to try again, but don't be too eager to set yourself up for a second fall.
So, what should you do when he doesn't call? Basically, nothing. Stay cool and don't allow yourself to get rattled. Let him go and move on. There really are plenty more fish in the sea. Just work on being a quality woman who knows what works with men and dating. Then you will have plenty of men calling and the odd one who doesn't will no longer be a problem.
