Buying A Property Today
I can't wait to find my new home in Essex, and I have been really enjoying the process of looking. It is a while since I bought a new property. My first home was a new flat in Essex, it was my pride and joy and I loved it because it was all mine. I could decorate it how I wanted, after years or renting and not being able to redesign anything. I could have who I wanted round, and I really felt that it was my home.I personally didn't like it when the housing prices escalated and people considered houses as objects to buy and sell for profit. I guess property became less about living in a home and more about how much profit people could make out of their property. With the current slump in the property market and the boom well and truly over, we can all take stock of what the real meaning of property is. Of course there are investments to be made and profits to be gained from property. However it definitely needs to be a long term investment, and the get-rich-quick schemes of people making a fast buck in property has passed. So I find myself in a strong position looking for a new home. Essex has so much to offer, and I can actually look at other areas in Essex that were overpriced a few years' ago, and I would not have been able to afford at all.House prices are gradually decreasing to a much more affordable level, which I don't think is a bad thing. Some house prices I have come across are artificially higher than the market levels should be. This will inevitably put off buyers. Buyers are definitely looking for a bargain when looking at new homes. Essex prices have been fluctuating, but new developments in Essex have also been offered to the market with major incentives from house builders to help sell their house stock. So it really is a buyers market no matter how you look at it. I would much rather be looking for a property in today's market than a few years' ago. Estate agents were ruthless at times and their behaviour wasn't always acceptable. Nowadays estate agents seem to actually be nice and want to treat you as a customer. When viewing new homes in Essex, my estate agents have been nothing but helpful and amenable, and really going out of their way to give me a good service. So all in all, there will be winners and losers in this current economic climate and property market climate. But I think I am a winner.
