Bucking The Uncertainty Of Wedding Invites

What will the future hold for you as a young -- or not so young -- married couple

? While the rush to pick out the perfect wedding location and wedding invites is an all-consuming one, in the end, all that time and attention will have to be re-focused on each other. This may sound like an obvious statement, but in the rush to plan and memorize and entertain, the substance of your union might inadvertently get buried.

The rush to get married can be extremely overwhelming for many newlyweds and newlyweds-to-be. It is understandable that two people in love would be so eager to get married that they forget to safeguard each other. To have friends and family witness their vows is a powerful desire -- in fact, it may be a necessary one. Marriage is, after all, a tremendous milestone in anyone's life. It is natural to want to celebrate it.

To be sure, wedding invites and decorations and reception menus are important, they should be kept in perspective. Yes, you want your guests to have a great time and have a number of great keepsakes, but at what cost? This isn't to suggest that passionate planning will somehow undermine your wedded bliss. But, it can leave either the groom or the bride a bit head-spun and bewildered.

You must take time during your planning phase to reconnect. This means setting aside at least one day a week to close the doors on the wedding planners and just communicate with each other. Sharing your feelings, your fears, and your hopes will do wonders as you endure the rush and push of things to come. Surviving the wedding has become a cliche, and for good reason.

The wedding and the reception and the honeymoon will be over before you even know it. It's a roller coaster ride that can be as breathtaking as it is bewildering. The key is to not let the roller coaster throw either one of you off the ride. This means taking the time to connect, re-connect, and connect some more.
