Another option allows the surgeon to make an incision around the areola, the darker skinned area around the nipple. Once opened, the implant is put into place through this opening. Those who are likely to have children and wish to breastfeed in the future, or those who want to have sensation around the nipple may not benefit from this method.
A new type of procedure allows a surgical cut to be made in the area of the belly button. An endoscope is then used to implant the implants into the appropriate area.
