On the contrary, it is even good to note that bezel settings can protect the diamond from dirt and dust. And both are known cause of dulling a diamond's sparkle.
Bezel set diamonds is one of the design which offers the best protection for the stone. It's metal rim is such that it can lock the stone securely. It is so secure, the diamond is less likely to fall off than with other designs. Also, because of its streamlined appearance, the stone is not going to get snagged on clothes or other fabrics easily.
As with any other jewelry, bezel diamonds also need some care to maintain the diamonds beauty. Even more so with bezel settings where the metal can trap finer dusts within it rim keeping the dirt in close proximity to the diamonds. That's why it is imperative that you give proper maintenance to the diamonds. You can have a professional do it for you, or you can do it yourself. You can use commercial jewelry cleaner, ammonia or even the more available warm water and mild detergent.
Not everyone can get dazzled with a bezel set diamonds. But someone who likes to have their diamonds elegant yet not overly flamboyant, can get easily enamored with bezel set diamonds.
