Beware Of The Bitter & Twisted Dating Tips Online
Clearly, I think there are some good online dating tips or would not waste my time
writing dating advice and tips, but I want people to think about what they are reading and who is the author before taking anything you say the gospel.
Here are five things to consider carefully before taking the dating advice of "experts."
1. Everything written is an opinion of someone with a particular history. Verify that you are writing web site content; make your articles all sounds as if they were written by the same person, being written from a personal perspective and if so what is its history dating?
2. The words "expert" and "guru" are rarely used and read advice from someone who is calling. What qualifies someone as an expert in dating? If they have not stopped flowing for 30 years then either has commitment problems or is too ill to leave. Just take Dr. Phil, I read your advice on how to have a long and happy marriage? What do you really know about the current scene data, is not going away?
3. Dating advice includes comments like "I can make you attractive to men and women, even if you are fat and ugly." Would you go to a clothing store and take advice from a clerk who called you fat and ugly? I doubt it, so why would you accept to be insulted just because it is online. False promises to make you attractive to the opposite sex to rely on a lack of confidence to get you to buy your book or video or whatever they are selling. Follow the advice of people, they should respect what you are and do not desperately try to sell yourself.
4. Beware the bitter and twisted. Blogger is a platform for many types of people, but it includes those who simply want to rant about their bad experiences. There are dating many blogs that simply cataloging a series of dates disastrous men call names and generalize about the opposite sex, especially written by women in their 40's, but I have not read one that stops and wonders if perhaps this is the problem. Avoid these blogs, they usually have no real advice constructive to say.
5. Those who say, "I am the same as you so my advice is best for you." Do not just read the advice of the people of the same age, gender and location, you can learn a lot from reading the thoughts of the opposite sex and older people who have been there, done that and bought the shirt. If you are recently divorced, then do not read advice from someone who is also recently divorced and trying to date someone, find a writer who is divorced, began dating again and is now in a long term relationship with the experience want to hear about.
