Usually, once you have a set day in mind, you are going to want to send out your Baptism invitations no less than two or three weeks in advance of the ceremony; one month ahead of time would probably be more ideal, just to make sure that people have enough time to plan to travel and attend.
Once you know when the event is going to occur you are going to need to figure out who you want to be on hand to share it with your child, you and your family. Of course, the godparents need to be present, who you should have already selected by now and discussed all of this with them. Remember that choosing your childs godparents is a big decision, and is not one to be taken lightly. These are the people who will play a vital role in your childs life.
Dont forget to include details about the celebration that will take place after the ceremony; many people have a party for the one being baptized, so you will want to extend the baptism invitations to attendees to include coming to that party as well as the actual ceremony.
