In 1961, Koltzoff and V Schroder, Russian scientists, concluded that the sperms with different gender chromosomes were drawn by an anode or cathode. Sperm containing X chromosome were attracted to a positive charge while sperm containing the Y chromosome were attracted to the negative charge.
Later scientists discovered that the ovum membrane also carried an electric charge. The charge on the ovum membrane was not fixed but alternated from positive to neutral to a negative charge. This is called ?he Polarity Cycle of the Ovum Membrane?.
The Polarity Cycle was found to be predictable but totally separate from the ovulation / menstruation cycle. When the ovum membrane is positively charged, it attracts the sperm carrying the X chromosome (which is negatively charged) and a baby girl in produced.
When the ovum membrane is negatively charged, it attracts the Y sperm and a baby boy is produced.
When the ovum membrane is neutral, sperm carrying either X or Y chromosome can unite with the ovum and fertilize it.
