Men have always claimed that women are picky and indecisive about just about everything in their lives. Many men complain that they never know what to get their lady as far as presents for their birthdays. An anniversary, mother's day and other special events, but is that really true. Are men just using that excuse to cover up the fact that most of time they forget these special dates and say they just didn't know what to get?
Many women love jewelry, flowers, candy, lingerie, purses, shoes and a night out. So what is so hard about picking something from that category? Nothing, but men seem to have a hard time finding gifts for the women in their lives. But if you ask women, men are the ones that really are the challenging ones. Men say that they don't care what you give them, but deep down they want you to give them a present that will make their eyes light up too. So the question is who is pickier, women or men?
I guess this question can be debated for days and days and maybe we still won't be able to figure it out, but I wanted to call attention to the issue that men love great presents just as much as women. Women are constantly trying to come up with great gift ideas for men. They spend hours in the mall and on the Internet. Asking friends for advice or calling family members in hopes to find that special present that their significant other will love and know that they are appreciated.
I'm not saying the men don't try to look for great gift ideas for women too. The difference is that men look for the great gift ides the day of while women take days or weeks looking for a great gift for their men. And please don't get me wrong there are some exceptions to the rule. There are some men that really go all out and put a lot of time into selecting a present as well as some woman that don't put much effort into their search for the perfect or great gift for their guy.
I guess it's time for both side to recognize that every person wants to feel appreciated and loved and presents do demonstrate or have something to say about the way we feel about a person. It has nothing to do with the money, how big or little a present, but the thought and effort that go into finding a present that say "hey, I've been thinking about you". As much as we want to pretend that gifts don't matter and that we would appreciate whatever someone gets you, the truth is that we want to know that the person we spend so much time is truly listening and is truly in tune with our needs, desires and just simply gets us.
The answer may not be which Sex is pickier, but that everyone just wants to be appreciated.
