This first tip may sound like common sense, but you would be surprised at how few men realize it. You can't attract a woman if you don't surround yourself with them. If your idea of a social life consists of going to the sports bar with your friends and watching television alone at home, you aren't going to be of interest to anyone, much less women. If a local bar or club has a ladies night, check it out. If there is a social group in your area for singles, think about joining it. If you want to be found, you have to make yourself easy to find. Second, you have to make yourself appealing to women. If your idea of dressing up to go out means that you brush your teeth for a few seconds and put on a t-shirt that doesn't have three inches of pet hair on it, you likely need to see a stylist, stat. Even if you are after a "traditional" girl who doesn't exactly find the metrosexual look attractive, you do have to put at least a little effort into your appearance. If you have no fashion sense, take someone with you who does and hit the store. None of these tips for attracting women will work if you look terrible.
If you are one of those guys that is painfully socially awkward, you may need to practice talking to girls before you head out to the club. Plenty of women are attracted to shy, nerdy guys (usually shy, nerdy girls), but if you are so shy that you can't even get word one out of your mouth, you are going to need help. Remember, girls are almost always more attracted to men comfortable enough to be themselves in social situations than guys who have to put up a front. Smart girls can tell who is acting naturally and who isn't. Try talking to girls online to practice before moving to more public venues.
Finally, if you notice that many of the women you are attracting end up only wanting to be friends, don't treat it as a failure. The more female friends you have, the better chance you have of meeting someone romantically since the best recommendation you can get is from other women. These tips for attracting women can genuinely help you in the long run, but they might take some practice to implement.
