Cheating with a married man might be appealing to a woman cheating. She might feel that this is the one man who will not become possessive or intrusive into her life. She may even believe that he will be as dedicated as she is to protecting their identities and ensuring no one ever finds out about their infidelity.
That problem is things rarely go as plan even when planned so carefully. Here are a few good reasons why cheating with a married man rarely works.
1) You can chose who you are physically around but you can't really guard your heart (or his) against falling in love with someone you are so personally intimate with. The more often you are together, the greater the odds that one or both of you will truly fall for the other.
2) Even though he might not be interested in his wife finding out doesn't mean that she will be interested in protecting your identity or keeping the information from your husband if she gets wise to what's going on. The risk in a relationship like this is doubled because there are two spouses who could find out what is going on. That means there are two people who will also be deeply hurt if they discover what is going on.
3) There is no rule, written or otherwise, that states he will not become possessive over you even though he's married to another woman. This means that there are just as many ways for this relationship, one you've kept secret and guarded closely, to go very wrong, very fast. For the sake of your own safety it's rarely a good idea to be cheating on your husband with a married man.
4) There's nowhere for the relationship to go. Relationships should grow and evolve over time. When you're both married to other people you have nowhere for the relationship to go. It will either fizzle out or put your existing marriages in serious risk. For some couples the beginning is all about the risk and the danger but eventually there will be the need for something more. What happens when one person wants something more and other does not?
5) There's no such thing as safe sex. No matter how careful the two of you are, there's always risk involved in having an affair. The fact that you're having an affair with married man doesn't mitigate that risk but it does make for additional victims in the even that something does go wrong and a pregnancy or something else comes out of the pairing.
