5 Fun And Easy Ways To Lose Weight

For many women, the very words Losing Weight, conjures up an image of sacrifice and suffering

, or at best being boring and mundane. But it need not be like that, for there are plenty of easy things you can do that will make a real contribution towards finding a healthy way to lose weight and some of them can even be fun!

So here are 5 ideas you may like to think about including in your life if any of them sound easy, just give them a try, you may be surprised where they lead!

1.Eat Sensibly

Lets face it, starving yourself will take the whole joy out of the process of losing weight so rule number one, is eat whenever you are hungry! Granted our daily activities may not always allow us to eat at a moments notice, but if you make sure you always have a couple of healthy snack bars to hand, it really does not take more than 2 to 3 minutes to eat one when the opportunity arises.

Staving off hunger till lunch or dinner time invites nothing but temptation to binge out in order to satisfy your hunger. But if you can eat 5 small meals or snacks a day, you will always feel satisfied which will in turn lower your appetite for over indulging in unhealthy food.

The one exception to eat when hungry rule is to always try and have some breakfast, whether you feel particularly hungry or not. Eating breakfast will not only reduce temptation or craving later, but will also kick start your metabolism for the day; and when your metabolism is at work, your body is using energy, so just eating breakfast in itself can contribute towards your weight loss.

2.Go Shopping !

Okay, we are not talking shopping for a new wardrobe, just yet! But shopping is still shopping, so how about replacing all your old plates and bowls with new ones?

Why?

Well, the fast food industry spends millions on advertising, so they spend a lot of time researching what colours trigger appetite. Can you think of a major fast food outlet that does not use large adverts with bright, vivid colours? Probably not many and that is for a good reason, because research has long since shown that bright, vivid colours trigger appetite, and the larger the image, the more appetite is stimulated.

See if you can find some small plates (ideally 25cm diameter or less) that are in darker colours, because from a psychological perspective the size and colour of your crockery will reduce your appetite quite significantly.

3.Banish the Cravings Eat what you Enjoy!

Changing your entire diet overnight to avoid eating everything you used to, is a well trodden path to failure for many women. Battling with cravings can not only leave you feeling tired and irritable, but also only serve to reinforce an unhealthy association and relationship with food.

Thankfully nowadays, our choice laden grocery stores offer lower calorie, organic and healthy versions of most kinds of food, so there is no reason why you cannot still enjoy the meals you love there really is such a thing as Food Lovers Fat Loss, try a few, you may be surprised!

If you are doing well and making progress towards your weight loss goals, then there is equally no reason why you cannot treat yourself occasionally too.

Ideally it is not a great idea to make food related items the focal point for any treat; far better to treat yourself to those shoes with the killer heels you have had your eye on, or even get a manicure, but hey, if you really want to eat out at a fancy restaurant occasionally, that is okay too!

4.The E Word What is so scary?

The word Exercise itself strikes a chord of fear for many, or often at best it conjures up an image of tiresome obligation with a lack of options. But is the E word really so scary? The really sad fact is that many of us allow this perception to form from what we have heard others say, without actually having a meaningful go at it for a month or so to see how things pan out.

If it helps do not call it Exercise perhaps physical activity, of even just fun if you like and it alters your perception. Sex, riding bikes, walking someones dog for them, or even roller blading if it takes your fancy, are all activities that when carried out over a period of time, qualify as a source of exercise.

5.Beware of the Sweet Tooth!

There is a happy medium here rule number 3, Banish the Cravings Eat what you Enjoy still applies, but if you do have a sweet tooth, you ought to at least be aware of what is going on in your body, which may help you to keep things in moderation.

Most people are aware that eating a lot of sugary foods leads to weight gain but actually, it has been proven that eating sugar may not directly increase your weight. What is does do though, is act as a trigger for your appetite, which is why eating a piece of chocolate over lunch will often find you looking for anything else you can get your hands on to eat.

So give in to your sweet tooth occasionally if you must, but as a rule of thumb, if you can avoid candy, soda and other sugary filled foods, you may be doing yourself more of a favour than you realise.
