When Judgment Buyers Turn You Down

When Judgment Buyers Turn You Down

I am not an attorney, I am a judgment matchmaker

. This article is my opinion, and not legal advice. If you ever want a strategy to use or legal advice, please contact an attorney.

In my work, nearly every day I hear and read statements similar to: "I've talked to around 100 buyers of judgments, and they either tell me no, or do not respond at all. My judgment is guaranteed and my judgment debtor lives very well in a mobile home, receiving both disability and social security payments, so how come nobody will buy my judgment?"

In that example statement, that judgment creditor has no idea that their debtor's situation, and that judgments are not warranted, are the explanation why they've had no luck on their 100 attempts.

Because of the economic mess, most judgment buying companies are now either partially or fully out of business. However, many leave their websites going, giving the illusion that they will pay cash upfront for many judgments. When Judgment Buyers Turn You Down

Many judgment buying companies ignore or turn down, way more than ninety-nine percent of judgments sent to them. If a debtor is really rich, some may pay cash upfront for judgments. If the judgment debtor isn't rich, the best will tell you no, others will not respond at all.

The right way to sell a judgment is to market and price it correctly. Only your judgment debtor's available assets can repay a judgment. When the judgment debtor is unknown or poor, judgments are worth very little, no matter what company you contact.

When you have contacted a few contingency collection attorneys or judgment companies about your judgment, and have been ignored or turned down a few times, the wrong thing to do is to continue contacting judgment companies or contingency collection lawyers.

The smarter thing to do, is to list your judgment once with a judgment referral or listing company; because for free, they introduce you to a qualified judgment recovery solution or buyer.

Here is four other reasons why it makes sense to use a judgment referral company:

1) You send your information and judgment just once. This saves your time and your voice. You specify your request one time, rather than negotiating with lots of people, that won't help you.

2) They bring the best offers to you. The best shop for you, better than you can, and match your judgment, and debtor to the best experts near the debtor.

3) They specialize in referring any and all judgments and judgment situations, so you don't have to search and look through advertisements.

4) Quality judgment matching companies screen for flaky or unresponsive entities, so you avoid wasting time.

Whether you have a "slam-dunk" and easy-to-recover judgment, or a "crummy" judgment, using a judgment referral company saves you time and money. They are not miracle workers, however they usually help make time wasting and hassles disappear.
